Andrew Murray
Roasted Slope Vineyard Syrah
The salute to the Rhône region is obvious - while the fruit is great (dark plum) the front of this wine is roasted meat. Also 8% Viognier is a great touch. If you can visit this winery in Santa Barbara! Ask for Andre - super cool guy.

Jul 11th, 2020Blackberry, raspberry preserves, cherry cola, mossy earth, vanilla, currant and oak. Good structure and big, chewy tannins.

Aug 17th, 2017Really liked it. But something about the finish wasn't as good as the others.

Oct 28th, 2021To quote Miles: “Andrew Murray. Well okay.” Been a while since I’ve had one of Andrew’s wines, but I recall purchasing this at a Harvest Party a few years ago. Probably on the downslope just a bit, but this is still terrific. I always view the Roasted Slope as his homage to Guigal in my view, and it is a terrific wine.

Nov 18th, 2020Started off a little tight but after just ten minutes or so in the glass -- whoa -- big smoked meat / Earth flavors take over the front of the palate, followed by concentrated dark fruits, violets and a beautiful finish. Big tannins here but with a little bit of age on it, it delivers a super voluptuous pour.
