Big. Rich. Stiffly structured. Deep ruby red. Round dark fruit with bramble and forest influence. Mint and eucalyptus. Purposely built for the masses without a sense of place. A disappointing yet serviceable entry to a great producer.

Delicious Tuscan red. Half sangio half cab/merlot (if I remember correctly). Lots of leathery red fruits and dark berries, with acidity to stand up to the oldest family meatball and tomato sauce recipes.

Dirty ammonia like kitty litter and smokey cherry nose. Ripe red fruit, fleshy, and a somewhat flabby palate. Not a huge fan but not terrible.

2006. Tightly wound at first.. gave way to new leather, herbes de Provence, maraschino cherry... tannins still need to resolve - worth trying in another five years
