The wine we opened last night was the 2020 Alexana Terroir Series Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. This is from Newberg, Oregon.
On the nose there are notes of cherry, raspberry, spice, clove, mushroom, vanilla, smokey oak and dry soil.
On the palate there are red fruits, cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, clove, mushroom, cinnamon, baking spice and forest floor.
This is a medium bodied wine with a smooth plush mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that leaves us with a medium+ to long red fruit earthy mushroom finish. This being a short week we are already facing a new weekend in front of us. Fall seems to be pushing forward and the mornings are already cooler. @Delectable Wine this is the Terroir Series pinot noir.
I was wondering whether the fire smoke would have an effect on the wine (several producers decided not to bottle a wine in 2020). Nevertheless this was good OPN with solid earth. an iron core and lovely wild strawberry fruit.
