Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Confrérie Des Chevaliers du Tastevin Sous-Commanderie d'Albany; 9 October 2021 at Fort Orange Club, Albany, NY

Initially tightly wound and a fruit bomb on the nose, but then totally turned the corner and blossomed into what was a fantastic showing. Super complex, delineated and elegant with aromas that leap from the glass. Fresh, floral and sexy. Great.

This has a wonderfully succulent nose. Soft red fruit, that wonderful classy burg depth. On the palate great balance and super fresh for its age. Nice balance at the middle and a good finish. The front is the thing here and the rest is a bit more prosaic s as often is the way with Clos Vougeot, but this is a lovely wine in great shape.

En a mag to celebrate pre 4th of July. Wonderful without question.

This run of about 13 PHENOMENAL wines I'm posting are from the SQN wine dinner/WNH interview I did at @Shawn R 's house last night. I was like a kid in a candy store on Christmas. What an absolutely EPIC night! Love ya brother!

Only at an SQN dinner can this not be WOTN. Wow. Out of mag. Tons of life left. Great contrast to the Aubert. More floral and herbaceous...cranberry dominated the nose and the finish had Cedar and old vanilla pipe tobacco. I need more of this in my life.
