Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2016

Unfortunately I do not have much experience with St Vivant😉.My nose is assaulted by waves of red fruit, earth, roses and lots of spice. In the mouth juicy waves of red and black cherries are cut short by firm tannins.
Lots of hints, but no conclusions.

Nice. Like this producer. Who among us has enough experience with Grand Cru RSV? Obviously a decade+ too young but if it's getting popped, you've gotta taste it...if only to gauge how much longer before it starts to lower the defenses.

Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2012

The last bottle of my 2012 Vosne Romanée from Alain Hudelot Noëllat and its a wonderful show that it manage to put up. Like a grand dame in its golden years bit with a hell of a spirit its displaying evolving characters of dried strawberries, rose petals, blood orange and menthol that is backed up by a prominent choir of nutmeg, clove, truffles, wet stones and forrest floor. Fresh palate with very present but smooth tannins, an expansive palate as the encore slowly fades out in a very respectful and balanced finish.
Day 2 tasting and its pumped up, more nuanced, defined and dresses up to its teeth in elegance. The last bottle of six will leave its mark for sure. Divine!

No specific notes but a very elegant, spicy and floral burg done by one of the finest we know. Really good bottle and recommended. Might be a notch or two better with another 5 to 6 years of cellar time. — 7 months ago

Once being an important négociant in Burgundy. They sold their parcel of Richebourg to Mongeard Mugneret and Hudelot Noellat in 1980s. Perfect condition. Amazing how lively this shows. — 3 years ago

Face à face contre la RSV de Hudelot-Noellat. À l’ouverture le nez est plus expressif que la RSV. Dès le service on remarque que la robe est nettement plus foncée. Les Suchots Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru, en magnum, has a clean and precise bouquet, tightly-wound at first, perhaps lean to those accustomed to more fruit driven Burgundy of late. Yet there is real tension here. The palate is medium-bodied and pliant on the entry with pointed acidity. There's a slight tapering towards the finish that you don't usually find with this climat. It is actually meliorated in the glass, so don't be afraid to decant. Tasted at Stannery Wines' producer tasting in London. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2024)
