Granbazan Etiqueta Ambar Rías Baixas Albariño
Medium lemon color with stone and tropical fruit aromas and floral citrus scents. On the palate flavors of apples, mango and pineapple with citrus zest and hints of chalky notes. Well balanced with lively acidity, long finish ending slightly creamy with mineral, citrus and wet stone nuances. Very nice. Pair this with some chicken with tahini dressing.

Feb 12th, 2022Founded 1981, Granbazan an original quality pioneer in region, 1st estate to invest in modern winemaking equipment. Pale lemon with medium+ aromas of stone fruits, citrus and floral. On the palate apple, white peach, pineapple, citrus and honeysuckle flavors. Vivid acidity on medium+ finish ending with flinty notes. Still ok, bottle age will not benefit. Tasting Sample.

Aug 12th, 2019Beautiful vintage. Searing acidity, classic floral aromatics. Weight and texture are wonderfully delicate and refined. Lots of citrus and tropical fruit character with a subtle and gentle mineral presence. Quite possibly the best shrimp wine on the planet.

The palate is light to medium bodied with more of the same fruit notes plus lots of salty iodine flavors. Snappy acidity. A great wine for shellfish. Picked this up for $17 in Lebanon, NH.

Concentrated, spice- and mineral-tinged citrus and pit fruit and honeydew flavors tighten up steadily through the midpalate. Closes long and silky, with repeating peach and mineral nuances and a lingering floral nuance. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, June 2021)

This Albariño offers up a serious and complex nose. One whiff it’s the ocean. Next whiff it’s a field of flowers. Then, nectarines and tangerine zest. I know I am in for a treat before I take a sip. When I do, the pale golden wine delivers stone fruit up front, with plenty of salinity close behind. The acidity races, then is gone. It’s great while it is there. That odd citrus/salt flavor lingers, on a finish that is all too brief.

A textured expression of #albariño a little less aromatic than other examples and in need of more crisp acidity. All in all a good example of Albariño
