A step up in terms of prestige for my far-far away country, an original idea (the solera) and much needed vindication for an old winery on the way to irrelevance otherwise. The wine? #solera system 35 year old cask started with late harvest #macabeo and then continually add #grenachegris and #grenacheblanc #garnacha to get an amber colored intensely aroma sweet wine. Hazelnuts waffles and beeswax and honey. Everything delicious and amber colored is in here. — 8 years ago

Love this dessert #cava from #freixenet made with #malvasia and they add a #solera to the licor de expedicion or dosage which gives it body and complexity. A lovely rarity that is not fully understood or appreciated by most. — 8 years ago
