Had fun #blindtasting some friends on this. Used to sell it a few years back. Fun #Bordeaux blend from SW CO. Super powerful, big fruit, incredible acidity. Could age 5-10 more years!! #blastfromthepast #coloradowine #wishihadanother #wine — 10 years ago
Colorado deliciousness right here. #gewürtztraminer #coloradowine #2014 — 8 years ago
2001 Paloma Napa Merlot. I'm tired of 14.8 alc wines and this is over the top. Dense, chewy, black cherry, fig, graphite and saddle leather with a long expressive velvety finish. It's held up well and could have likely lasted another 5 years. #napa #paloma #merlot #highalcohol — 11 years ago
My very favorite (so far) white wine from a colorado producer, Creekside's Viognier. Weird, but there is no vintage on the label. Super floral, dry finish, with medium acidity. White peach, orange blossom, green melon, hay, grassy note, Meyer lemon. Really love the nose on this one - not too intense. Slight waxy texture, like saltwater taffy. #viognier #coloradowine #whitewine #sommlife — 9 years ago
My first #coloradowine and it's pretty decent - a good, simple, drinkable #merlot — 10 years ago
Mason Balistreri
Sommelier, International Wine Guild; Balistreri Vineyard; Sales, Joy Wine and Spirits
Perhaps THE quintessential Balistreri wine, and also near the top of my list of canonically great Petite Sirahs. This has so much to give: ripe plums, minerality, wave after wave of acidity and tannins. The 09' used to be pretty tannic and grippy, but now it has softened into something irresistible. The most amazing part? No new oak. No Sulphites. No Filtering. #naturalwine #nosulfites #coloradowine — 8 years ago
