#AgedWineTuesday

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. Not showing much age.

Nice nose of blueberries, blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, spices, coffee, light vegetables, herbs, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, pencil lead, black pepper and light medicine.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, cloves, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead, coffee, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and coffee notes.

This is a nicely aged Bordeaux from the great 2009 vintage. Showing a great nose and mouthfeel.

Elegant with lots of fruits. Nicely balanced with nice complexity.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show its pretty nose, so be patient. Tannins come in after 90 minutes.

Robert Parker 93 points.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

Tasty and spicy. A delicious wine.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$65.

Was really looking forward to this wine, given the hype, but way too much Brettanomyces for my taste. Barnyard aromas overpowered most of the fruit on the nose, and palate was similar. Very silky and smooth, but not a lot of intensity or completely...or fruit. Meh.

Strawberries and raspberries and a dash of Christmas spice. A light cake? Not exactly. This Gloria might continue adding complexity in bottle. Not quite trumpeting-angels good, but very pleasant for sure.

Vintage 2009 | dark colour, beautiful red fruit in smell, also leather, cedar/vanilla, chocolate. Rich and vibrant taste. Very good effort! | Paired with entrecôte, cherrie and foie gras | at restaurant Alma in Oisterwijk

Very beautiful wine in a very nice vintage, already easy drinkable. Deep nose with cooked black fruits, mouth with menthol aroma, strong tannins and a bit of acidity. Will last !

Dark purple color. Aromas of juicy black fruits and spice. Palate displays ripe fruit blackberries, cherries and berries, round tannins, combined with some mineral notes on the long rich finish. Very nice offering.

What really stands out is the texture. Super dark fruits. Supple tannins. Solid effort and value. Happy to sock away many more bottles of this beauty.

Vintage 2009 - chocolate, vanilla, shy fruit, hint of spices, impeccable balance and surprisingly accessible thanks to very round, silky tannins. #bordeaux #saintjulien
