This is why I love white burgundy. Thanks @Edward Zimmerman — 8 years ago
Our charming and fabulous friends Amanda and @Daniel Moritz took me and @Cara Zimmerman to Sushi Zo, where raw fish is made art. The sublime slices of sashimi were elevated by some terrific wines.
The 1970 Cappellano is largely tertiary in profile in its older years. Dried rose petals, orange peel and autumn leaves meld together in this subtle and elegant wine.

Enjoyed this tasty and teenaged Anakota Cab at Amis in Philadelphia with a lively view of the kitchen and delicious steak. Rich and peppery with a bite. Lots of fun chatting with the kitchen crew and the rest of the team at Amis while witnessing some glorious dessert prep (pictured: melted chocolate in ramekins)... Thank you @Cara Zimmerman for the great recommendation! — 7 years ago
Sushi and Champagne is one of my favorite combinations. Indeed, almost all celebrations that @Cara Zimmerman and I enjoy together will include this duo. This was somewhat of a step up from our norm as Sushi Zo is a world apart from our usual delivery order of tuna and salmon rolls (with free edamame). Likewise this 1975 DP was rather more elevated than our weekly fizz.
Dark golden color with rich, brioche and mature elements. A touch too advanced but enormously attractive and retaining terrific purity and energy. Sushi and Champagne has rarely been such a treat. — 8 years ago
Well, this was a serious pleasure. My first white hermitage (and only 3rd Chave?). We wondered whether we were opening it too young, and I'll never know, but this gave a lot. Bigger than most reds without feeling unbalanced, with a beautiful spice profile that emerged after 90 minutes, and showing its oak in a decadent, Burgundian way, this was a star amongst Raveneau and 78 Barolo. With thanks to Ed Zimmerman! — 8 years ago
In a perfect place. Thanks @Edward Zimmerman — 7 years ago
