Four Danuga Gigondas Grenache Blend

One word describes this wine: satisfying. It paired so well with my Entrecôte and his rump steak that we walked out feeling fine and not stuffed. Good acidity and tannins to stand up to the meat-a-palooza we consumed. Right and stewed fruit and a fantastically long finish. PS Robert et Louise is a must if you find yourself in Le Marais.

2013

Maybe an off night, but I found this disappointing. A too-sweet note when first opened, dissipates but I didn't think this ever found the right balance. Too smooth, no precise flavors.

This 2018 is nearly perfect. A well balanced mix of garrigue and dried but taught fruit. Full too of iron and dark wet stones.

Splashy, hydrating mouthfeel.

Burst of cherry on the front just enough tannins and a very pleasing finish. Paired nicely with beef short ribs.

Good w steak

Brooding beast. Cherry cola and dark fruit on the front, fleeting acidity on the back with just a brief glimpse of tannin, but plenty of alcohol and body.
