Anakota
Helena Dakota Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Wednesday Wine Committee and what a fantastic line-up by John! Typical format of 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine. All tasted blind.
Most guessed left bank Bordeaux here. It seemed the least “Cali” out of the 4 reds...not leathery, but more plum than red, black or blue fruit. Very balanced in terms of sweet fruit vs savory herbal/earthy components.

Enjoyed this tasty and teenaged Anakota Cab at Amis in Philadelphia with a lively view of the kitchen and delicious steak. Rich and peppery with a bite. Lots of fun chatting with the kitchen crew and the rest of the team at Amis while witnessing some glorious dessert prep (pictured: melted chocolate in ramekins)... Thank you @Cara Zimmerman for the great recommendation!

Apr 29th, 2018100% Knights Valley cab with a Bordeaux sensibility. Tobacco leaf nose and medium body, dark red fruit on a nice tannic frame. Peaking. Stark contrast to the Robert Foley '04 Claret we drank beside it, whose Napa extraction and finish could not be more different. Kudos to the team @DCK Healsburg
