Rule of Three Syrah Blend 2015

Arizona GSM, 40/20/40 blend, 14% alc/vol. Purple-red, moderate pigment extraction. Butter floral and red fruit aromas. Cherry, berry, cola and black currant flavors, slight seed bitterness and skin astringency on finish. A solid interpretation, not overly ripe vs other similar wines from the same origin. — 10 months ago

Merkin Vineyards Chupacabra Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2018

Serious juice here: legit AZ wine from the guy from Korn - this is Syrah dominant blend that was like squid ink, deep dark rich density of flavor & impressive extraction - even downright elegant. Huge blackberry / plum / fig compote mingled w/persistent white pepper. Ultra smooth finely grained tannins. The only thing stopping this was the acidity was slightly out of balance. Nevertheless it was very enjoyable! — 2 months ago

Salvatore Viognier 2017

Hints of peach, orange, pear, lemon, and apples- a literal cornucopia of fresh fruit! Nicely blended viognier- bright, crisp and refreshing with a long, creamy finish. Pleasantly surprised with this northwestern transplant’s AZ winery, which has won the San Francisco Chronicle’s best wine competition four years in a row. — 7 months ago

Pillsbury Wine Company

Roan Red Red Blend 2016

50/30/20 blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Ruby red, light to moderate pigment extraction. Funk, spearmint, cranberry, raspberry and herb (thyme) in nose. Black currant, cherry and black pepper flavors. Intense flavors form quickly after initial pour. Ideally, decant two hours to allow the fine-grained skin tannin astringency to dampen. — 10 months ago
