Opened yesterday, drank over 2 days.
The nose is very fruity and intense with dark cherry touches, earthy notes, some raspberry and blackberry scents too. I could even smell some peony notes too. This is really inviting. The palate is wide and long and quite complex. A good acid drive, some dark cherry notes all along, some very soft and easy going mouthfeel that is changing in mid palate with a great tannic wall, which adds a layer of dust over an otherwise quite juicy and fruity finish. In the back-end though, there is a tiny savoury note that pops along with a subtle bitterness. This is really my kind of cab franc. Really good stuff! — 2 years ago
Color of beautiful purple with some ruby color in it, nice legs. Nose is nice with sweet dried strawberry ice cream, ripe berries, aldehyde, some refined spice, some fermented cabbage, strength of alcohol, and Coca-Cola. Taste is smooth and follows the nose, no tannins and a bit zesty, sweet berries with black pepper. Aftertaste shows some more Coca-Cola taste and clean. Light yet refreshing and decent flavors. — 4 years ago

vintage 2016 | Odd experience. With 10 y I thought this to be a perfect wine for my Sunday dinner. When my wife and I tasted it we were making funny faces to each other. Verdict: undrinkable. We put it back in the bottle and I took it to a blind tasting with friends. They appreciated the wine. With 72+ hours air the wine came to life. Nice cab franc characteristics. — 3 months ago
A wonderful Mount Veeder Cab that has aged elegantly.
The nose shows blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum laced with savory notes of cedar, tobacco and dried herbs. The palate is concentrated yet vibrant with silky tannins has firm grip, finishing long with hints of cocoa and espresso.
Restrained power and finesse, Yannick brought both Veeder’s rugged characters and French precision. Last bottle. — 10 months ago

Medium light ruby , quite wide light ruby rim . On the nose shows good complexity with sous bois , truffle , cherry and raspberry. On the palate this is again more tertiary in character , with those cherry fruits complementing the earthy sous bois notes . With time this shows a mineral , stony undertow , but stays fresh and vital , with those cherry and raspberry notes . Very fine , ripe but grippy tannins . Fresh acidity and good balance , good velvety mouthfeel . This is great now though improves with time in the glass , so there is absolutely no rush here , from now and over the next 10 years perhaps. An excellent showing for this challenging year . At Auberge de l’ill, Illhaeusen. — a month ago
