Really gulpable and fresh. Serve cold. Austrian Beaujolais with some funk on the nose. Austrian reds (made like this) are underrated. — 9 months ago

Burgenland Zweigelt 2017

Great little Austrian red. Nice balance between cherries, peppery notes, and very subtle oak. Paired well with smoked bleu and Mario Golf: Super Rush. — 3 years ago

Hochheimer Hölle Riesling Spätlese 2022

Bright beige gold. Abundant nose and medium palate of crisp red apple, white flowers, honey, and a hint of flinty mineral. Medium acidity, slightly low for the appellation. Medium long finish. Excellent Rhein Range Riesling that's great with a spicy leaning (think chipotle or ancho chile) fare as well as fresh fruit and fruit based desserts. Drink now for the fruit, by 2037 for the development. — 7 months ago

Hochheimer Domdechaney Grosses Gewächs Riesling 2017

Star bright tannish gold. Surprisingly abundant nose of Royal Gala apples with a hint of flint. Still too young fir the flint to dominate, but it’s there. Medium light, layered palate echoes the nose wrapped around firm mouthwatering acidity and leading into a lengthy stony almost saline finish. German dry Riesling has come a long way since the turn of the century and this GG representative of the renowned 2017 vintage makes the case grandly. An excellent VDP authorized (look for the eagle) Riesling that will compliment a wonderful range of foods. Asian cuisine (non-spicy) or Euro-American pork dishes are naturals. Drink now through 2032 or so when the flint has taken the lead. — 4 years ago
