Ungerberg Blaufränkisch 2016

Amazing nose - on the richer side, with dark, juicy fruit, a pinch of spice. Great depth & purity. A bit of earthy minerality. Very harmonious & super enticing!
Beautiful presence on the palate. The tannins slowly mellowing yet still with a juicy, spice bite. Purity of fruit and mineral depth. Spatial & with great energy. Elegant and yet so drinkable. Entering the perfect drinking window now.

Really gulpable and fresh. Serve cold. Austrian Beaujolais with some funk on the nose. Austrian reds (made like this) are underrated. — 2 months ago

Lust & Leben Zweigelt Blend 2018

Bright red fruit flavors of cherry, cranberry, and raspberry, with a bit of earthy funk going on also. Dried autumn leaves on the nose. Appropriately, this would make a good wine for fall. (Too bad it's the middle of winter now!) 60% Zweigelt, 30% St. Laurent, 10% Blaufrankisch. 2/6/22. — 2 years ago

Great little Austrian red. Nice balance between cherries, peppery notes, and very subtle oak. Paired well with smoked bleu and Mario Golf: Super Rush. — 3 years ago

Hochheimer Domdechaney Grosses Gewächs Riesling 2016

Star bright yellow. Mineral and Granny Smith apple on the luxurious nose. Firm, stony acidity leads the palate which echoes the nose adding orange rind and bumping up the acidity. Finish is medium long and continues the palate. A fine GG that's Rheingau all the way. Take it anywhere from traditional German fare (brats, kraut, and potatoes here) to classic American Thanksgiving. Drink now through 2030. — 10 months ago
