Wasatch Beers

Brasserie Dupont

Avec Les Bon Veux Saison Malt

Saison DuPont is one of my favorite beers ever, amazingly my first time having this one. Insanely good, fuller body, more lemon oil than cream, pepper, clove, lemongrass, bread. I can’t believe they don’t add spices to this. So freaking complex. Finish lasts well over 30 seconds with lemon, poppy seeds, hay, jasmine tea. Wish I could find more of this. — 2 years ago

High Life The Champagne of Beers 2019

I've reviewed this beer before, enough said.

For a limited time the champagne of beers is being marketed in a champagne bottle complete with foil wrap for $2.49.

I couldn't resist, I bought one.

De Dolle Brouwers

Stille Nacht Belgian Strong Ale 2012

I remember loving this years ago. Aged this bottle for 8 years. 2012 bottle cap date. Nose with dried fruits, some citrus, bread. Palate is just stunning. Viscous with raisins, dates, caramel, toasted/burnt walnuts, and an underlying acidity that really keeps this in balance. Outstanding. One of the best aged beers I’ve ever had. — 4 years ago

Ruination Double IPA

Surprisingly, I kinda liked this despite my aversion to overly-hopped beers. The nose is a straight up hop-bomb - floral, citrusy, piney. The palate's also full-on, with heaps of hoppy bitterness, but balanced by malty sweetness and tropical fruit notes (passionfruit and mango for me). Finishes crisp and earthy. Not bad, but not my kind of beer (not an IPA fan basically). — 5 years ago

Never understood the due date on “Trappist” as we all now it really rocks once it passes it’s due date 🤣

Cigar City Brewing

Good Gourd Imperial Pumpkin Ale

Powering through the last of the oak beers on the way to wine immersion. On a positive note, the baby now has a room! Anyway, last year’s Good Gourd! Looks like dark tea or a hot cider, nice eruption of bubbling magic. Orange tinged; good start! Super spiced cinnamon apple, caramel, vanilla, nutmeg, and oddly smelling of a California wine. Sierra foothills mascarpone notes and also a hot buttered rum smell. Cinnamon tea, clove studded orange, whiskey-lemon-honey tea, toasted coconut, sweet tobacco, brown sugar, dates, fruitcake candied notes with a nod to its density. A cream soda finish with raisinets. #cigarcitybrewing #cigarcitygoodgourd #goodgourd #imperialale #ale #beer #bier #biere #birra #imperialpumpkinale #pumpkinale #pumpkinbeer #ccb #halloweenbeer — 5 years ago

Consecration Cabernet Sauvignon Barrel Aged Ale with Currants 2016

Aged for 2+years (bottled 12/16/16). The nose just blasts you with currants and cherries but also a cigar box smell. The palate is insanity! Sour cherries, prunes, currants, chocolate, tobacco, bread, and herbal quality. So glad I aged some of these beers. — 6 years ago
