This dirt-cheap 80% Montepulciano 20%Sangiovese from my ancestral homeland is pretty good. Tons of earthy, leathery fruit on the nose. Bright, zingy and super-youthful palate feel. Lighter than verdicchio, this is a cross of verdicchio and Sauvignon blanc from 1936. More sav b than verdicchio. Some apple and lime, still has a bit of bitterness at the end. Crisp, nice acidity, enjoyed with a cod dish. — 2 years ago

Vintage 2018 / Thanks! winefriend @Jaap Cuijpers knows that I like very curious grapes and he introduced me to Incrocio Bruni 54. There are only 32 acres vineyard with this grape, a crossing from sauvignon and verdicchio bianco. The wine is from the Marche region. It went excellent with a piperade of vegetables and baked flounder (Fr: limande Nl: schar) and a selection of goats cheese. — 7 years ago
