We liked this both as a dry martini and as a vesper — 7 years ago
Great dark fruit. Black cherry, black currents, spice and just the right amount of alcohol brilliantly bold with slight acid — 9 years ago

Plymouth gin and Grey gosse vodka. Lillet. Vesper — 3 years ago
Had at vesper! Great flavor. — 3 years ago
Perhaps the best infused Gin for cocktails. Add Lillet and lemon peel for a Vesper or simply add good tonic water. You could even enjoy it on the rocks with a slice of orange. — 10 years ago
use this instead of Lillet in a Vesper. Have been told it is closer to the original more bitter notes of Lillet in the Fifties when Ian Fleming created the cocktail. Incredible addition to a classic cocktail. — 10 years ago
Saline, stone fruit, and a little feral Mourvedre edge. Not necessarily a patio pounder, but blossoms with food. Roast chicken anyone? #sandiego #kogodwinemerchant #letstaste10roses — 11 years ago
Fantastic gin!
Even better for a vesper martini (w beluga vodka and Lillet blanc) — 3 years ago
Move over Cocchi and Lillet! This is perhaps the best quinquina vermouth I’ve had. It’s a good aperitif when served up or chilled, but the extra cardamom kick makes it a great cocktail ingredient. It makes a really good Vesper, but try it on a Bijou:
- 1.5oz navy strength gin (I used Krobar from Paso Robles, but Plymouth or Hayman’s should work great)
- 0.75 oz Green Chartreuse
- 0.75 oz ?! no. 73

Cool, refreshing, mellow — 10 years ago
Initial taste felt sweet but then turned very complex and almost spicy. Had a little bit of a burn in the after taste. Very enjoyable. — 10 years ago
Super savory and electric. Fruit? We don't need no stinkin' fruit! 20 days on the skins, and worth every minute. @Chris Broomell — 11 years ago

Convento San Lorenzo – Vesper Rosso di Valtellina / Nebbiolo / 2021
Valtellina DOC – Lombardy, Italy 🇮🇹
Overview
A fresh and vibrant 100% Nebbiolo crafted from the sun-soaked terraced vineyards of Valtellina, one of Italy’s northernmost winegrowing regions. This alpine setting gives Nebbiolo a lighter, more graceful expression than its Piedmont cousins.
Aromas & Flavors
Juicy red cherries, wild strawberries, and rose petals, lifted by subtle herbal and mineral notes.
Mouthfeel
Light-bodied yet structured, with lively acidity and smooth, fine tannins that glide across the palate.
Food Pairings
Bresaola, smoked brisket sliders, or a rustic spread of charcuterie.
Verdict
Pop, pour, and enjoy, this is Nebbiolo at its most approachable and charming, with no need for cellaring.
Did You Know?
Valtellina is one of the few places outside Piedmont where Nebbiolo thrives, locally called Chiavennasca. Its terraced vineyards, carved into steep alpine slopes, are UNESCO-recognized for their cultural heritage.
