Single vineyard from Turtle Rock Farms with whole cluster ferment.
Aged 20 months in 34 % new oak.
Dark ripe fruit with black cherry.
Black berries, herbs, cassis and smooth tannins but with acidity and a fresh finish.

@Shay A it’s so funny that people often think they’re two in the same but honestly the turtle rock wines are way more lifted and elegant compared for saxum which is so velvety and full throttled. I like the richness and excessiveness of saxum and sometimes I prefer the more nuanced and bright turtle rock

@Alex Lallos : I don’t disagree. I enjoy both. But, I’d be lying if I said I enjoyed Saxum just as much now at $135/bottle versus when they were $95/bottle last year.
