Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2017

Delectable Wine

The 2017 Amarone Classico Costasera is intense, with masses of dried black cherries and mocha complicated by spiced citrus rinds and a dusting of cocoa. This is a total pleasure on the palate, seamlessly silky and elegant with a spicy core of red fruits. The 2017 tapers off with tremendous length, staining the palate in youthful concentration yet remaining completely fresh. (Eric Guido, Vinous, March 2023) — 10 hours ago

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Corvina Blend 2015

Delectable Wine

The 2015 Valpolicella Classico Superiore lifts up with unprecedented freshness as a beautiful mix of fresh cherries, cloves and cedar is complemented by rosy florals. This is a model of purity, slightly salty in character, with crisp red fruits and sweet spice nuances. It tapers off lightly structured and perfumed, leaving the palate perfectly reset as a tinge of minerality lingers. The warm vintage 2015 is complex yet finessed. Simply stunning. Soave Classico Garganega 2020

Acidity high enough to strip the enamel off your teeth. This Mayer lemon tasting Soave Garganega is sure to turn some acid-heads. Cheers. — a month ago

Ripassa Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Corvina Blend 2016

Dark purple color. A baby Amarone. Aromas and flavors of black currant, plum, black olives, lavender baking spices, figs, iron and black olives. Hint of bitter coffee and smoke on the very long finish. Medium-plus body. So complex. Thanks for sharing, Ron B! — 3 days ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2018

Delectable Wine

Cocoa, cinnamon and clove come together with crushed plums and balsam herbs as the 2018 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico blossoms in the glass. This is silky and enveloping yet cool-toned in feel, with depths of dark red fruits nicely contrasted by a core of saline minerality. The 2018 finishes structured and long, tugging at the palate with grippy tannins as hints of Baker's chocolate and inner rose slowly fade. This is a vertical and racy edition of Allegrini Amarone, but it will require some time to come fully into focus. (Eric Guido, Vinous, March 2023) — 10 hours ago

Tenuta Sant'Antonio

Selezione Antonio Castagnedi Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2005

A little oxidized, but still tasty. Powerful wine with hints of dry plumb, aged cherry, and tea. Fruity with dry finish. Delicious! Would give it a 9+ if we drank it back in 2015 or 2018. But for an 18 year old wine, it still packs a punch. 15.5% vol. — 2 days ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2015

Delectable Wine

There's an almost-woodsy character to the 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. It opens with a complex blend of woodland herbs and underbrush giving way to wild berries, cinnamon sticks, shaved cedar and crushed rocks. It's surprisingly energetic yet still quite potent, with an intense wave of ripe red fruits offset by hints of spiced citrus and cloves. This finishes remarkably long, yet it maintains a vibrancy seldom seen from Amarone, as autumnal spices and staining of raspberry preserves taper off under an air of violet-tinged florals. Classico Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2017

Tasted too young and not airy enough. Nevertheless: exuberant nose, big matter in the mouth, omnipresent tannins, alcohol present, sweetness, acidity, aromatic bouquets, everything is marked! The breeding is already relatively melted. A wine carved for the guard. To forget a few years in the cellar. Very nice product!
