Les Jarollieres Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Really pretty flora nose. Intense rose petal. Lean and little tight on the palate. Super elegant and refined. Not for the Russian River lovers. — 14 days ago

Donum

Russian River Reserve Estate Grown Pinot Noir 2014

In magnum...its going to be a fun Friday night! Hour decant. A brilliant medium ruby red color. On the nose: jumping from the glass are cherry, wet leaves, a vanilla strawberry, smokey earth, and a little floral. Taste: A creamy, fresh medium plus body wine with cherry, orange peel, minerals, earthy, and a spiced dark plum long finish with just a hint of tannins still kicking. YUM. — 2 months ago

Rochioli

Estate Grown Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2018

Pop and pour. A superb light golden straw color. On the nose: lemon, tart green apple, crushed rocks, little pear, and a touch of honey. Taste: elegant, creamy medium body wine with nectarine, minerals, lemon rind, apple, cinnamon and a spiced white peach decent finish. Cheers! — a month ago

Domaine Fernand Engel

Praelatenberg de Kintzheim Alsace Grand Cru Riesling 2014

Medium gold in color, the honeyed nose shows apricot, minerally/earthy “petrol” notes, and almost a Semillon-like lanolin note. Rich in the mouth and off-dry (like a German Feinherb), it’s got deep fruit and earth flavors and is quite full-bodied (14%), with a little alcohol showing at the tail end of the finish. Not a delicate-styled Riesling by any stretch. It’s the kind of Riesling that will go better with white meats than anything from river or sea. — 18 days ago

@David L @Dawn E. @Severn Goodwin They’re Bormioli InAlto I bought several years ago (at Marshall’s of all places, I think). I love how they concentrate the nose of a wide range of wines. Unfortunately I’m down to my last 2, which my wife and I use when it’s just us. I’m not sure they’re even produced anymore. I should check (but my wife says we have too many wine glasses already!).

DuMOL

Russian River Valley Syrah 2005

Love DuMol wines, but more of a fan of their Pinot vs Syrah. These are elegant Rhône-style, balanced wines but slightly leaner than I was looking for when I opened this (super Sunday!). I hadn’t had one in 5-6yrs, so I’m thinking the 05 peaked at 8-12yrs & I’m just late to the party. Dense color & rich currant/cinnamon, but just a little lighter w/ a fast finish. — 2 months ago

Morning Sun Vineyard Barbera 2016

Chalk, dust flavored raspberry mixed with slight green pepper that has a medium long finish. Deep red/purple color that reminds of Syrah but a palate that makes you suddenly think sweet and deeply complex all at once (even though it is definitely not sweet). After having this at different stages in the bottle, have to say a little longer time in the cellar seems to increase complexity and overall length of finish. Excellent wine!! — a month ago

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2016

Took a long while to open up and show itself, and was not great right off. But couple hours of air and here we are! Ripe strawberry party on the front, but then prunes and dates on a long finish. (A little olive or briny undertone for me on this bottle. Don’t see others saying that) Big and lush and indulgent. #staycation — 2 months ago
