June 2024 disgorgement; would’ve preferred to pop this +12 months (vs. 6), as it would certainly benefit from some time. A grower BdB favorite; of course made from 100% Chardonnay, coming from several Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs. The Cuvée de Réserve is a blend of more than twenty vintages, dating back to 1988 (via the solera method)! Peters considers this their “flagship” champ, even at the NV price point.
Firm upfront with a rather long finish. Sharp acidity; strong lemon, pale stone fruit, orange zest, and young tangerine notes. Medium body with pillows to carry you through. Steel vs. wood. 12% ABV. Simply delicious. — 4 months ago
Blackberry, earthy nose. Dark red color.
Medium body.
Blackberry, cherry, and baking spice flavors.
Very good, a little young at the moment.
On sale for $30, regularly around $40. — 5 months ago
If you didn’t tell me what it was, I’d have guessed top Amarone. — a month ago
Strawberry, raspberry aromas.
Light red color. Fruity, Jammy raspberry and cola flavors w/ nicely balanced acidity. Not oaky.
Good overall.

Insane QPR. Comparable with a lot of $75 WA reds for 1/3 price. Well done, and aging well. — 4 months ago
Apricot, lemon zest, lychee, and shortbread. Juicy and flavorful. — 6 months ago
What’s not to like about this BDX blend from WA! Not overdone or overextracted (oak definitely there but integrated) but very generous aromatics & flavors on palate. Red & black fruit, warm spice, distinct cassis, minerality & earthiness like loam & soil goodness. Sturdy tannins, bit hi ABV - sometimes lumbering, but a really impressive & persistent finish. Bump for QPR — 3 months ago
Once again, they were out of the wine I ordered and offered this. Once again, a nice choice. Great with the braised pork shank. — 3 months ago
Limestone, lemon, and pear. Crisp and fresh for a Chardonnay. — 5 months ago

Golgotha - Scholium Project 2010.
Widowmaker Block Hudson Vineyards.
Abe, the man who would be king, gifted this bottle (amongst many others) to me after being an Intern in 2013. They travelled from Napa to London to Western Australia.
15 years later on a Monday night of a week I wasn’t meant to be drinking…
I pulled it out of the wine fridge in Margaret River. Cork fresh as a daisy and some decent sediment on first pour. Aerated with Vinturi and poured. Some early VA blew away and a Star Was Born. The floral powderiness on my mid palate is intoxicating. Never before have I tasted a big inky, 15% delicate ballerina like this. So glad I opened it alone so we can have a week together understanding each other. Has to be Petite Syrah. Wine study X 1000 ♥️ Pretty Pimpin — a month ago
