Talca, Maule Valley

Reserve Carménère 2016

Dark purple. Deep aroma of plums and smoke and fruit molasses. Flavors are rich and boisterous. Tobacco. Cherry pits. Plenty of acids. Zippy. Elegant. This is very tasty stuff. And fancy enough to have alone or for a nice date or dinner. — 11 days ago

Gran Reserva Valle del Maule Merlot 2015

Loved this Merlot! It’s just mellow enough, but has the complexity you want in wine to keep it interesting. Mid-level tanins with a chocolatey finish. Great stand alone wine. — 4 days ago

Terra Noble

Gran Reserva Maule Valley Carignan 2018

This inky wine has a slightly medicinal nose, with blackberry and tar notes. The tannins are forceful to a fault upon opening. Let it sit awhile and allow them to be less inflamed. The fruit is fairly forefront, possibly due to the aging of half the wine in concrete eggs. The savory finish is quite long and satisfying.

Valle del Maule Mourvedre Garnacha 2017

Great modern red from Chile! Second bottle from the wine club at Olmstead, BK. Serve it on the cooler side. Affinities to Jura or the Pacific US Northwest. Slightly effervescent, mineral, wild, herbal and SMOKED. Had it with filet mignon and shiitake mushrooms in red wine sauce, and arugula salad with pears, goat cheese and toasted walnuts. — 17 days ago
