Prayers of Sinners & Saints Wine

Prayers of Saints Chardonnay

Very nice chardonnay. Got it at the Butcher on the Block to go with either the New York strip burgers or the "Cubbie" brats. Yum. — a month ago

Scarpa (Antica Casa Vinicola Scarpa)

Tettineive Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1989

Still with hints of fruit notes to tease of a past glory, but it was limited at this point with other notes touching on raisins, earthiness with mushrooms...but overall past its prime. — a month ago

Modus Operandi Cellars

Vanquish Cabernet Sauvignon

Medium to dark ruby with a nose of blackberries, cloves, vanilla, and a touch of anise. Medium body with with a touch of excess acidity. Dry with a nice long finish. Fine grained tannins. A classy wine. Paired nicely with NY strip. — 20 days ago

Enderle & Moll

Liaison Pinot Noir 2017

Always a multi-day opera with this one:

Day 1: Luden’s cough drops, dill, coriander and pickling spices. Whiff of boiled weeds. And this is a fruit day. And the wine is clean as a whistle, tender and tempting. If you’re an Enderle fan, none of this sounds even remotely odd.
Day 2: Rancid strip mall Peking Duck, MSG straight out of the box, and cabbage boiled in a cheap aluminum pot. Wretched.
Day 3: The most tender, pure and clear cherry aromas and flavors, reminiscent of Tollot-Beaut or Cornu Chorey-les-Beaune of the 1980s. A long, palpable finish of immense, chalky minerals and vibrant acids. Extraordinary.
