First thing: much earthier than I anticipated. Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of ripe fruit: lemon 🍋, pineapple 🍍, and apricot 🍑. But before the fruit, there’s smoky minerality 💨 and dried thyme 🌱 followed by hazelnut. 🌰

This is great right now. Well balanced. Tart fruits of cherry and cranberry leading to some darker fruits and flowers with an end of baking spice. This is a bigger wine than I remember. More brawny. A lot of baking spice and also spices in general. Almost a cumin component. There’s a lot of fruit but it is richer and darker cherry and berry. I’m guessing this will integrate better over time. — 4 months ago
