This wine is medium-dark in color, with light getting through the glass. The nose brings the predictable - white pepper, cherries - and the unexpected - bell pepper, anise. On the palate, red currant and cherries meet over oak spice and black pepper. The tannic structure is firm enough, but not so toothy that it gets in the way. The medium finish is laden with fruit. — 6 years ago
Great wine from a VERY fun winery. — 6 years ago
This Napa (Calistoga) single-vineyard SauvBlanc has a nose that's dominated by fruit, primarily tropical and citrus. An apricot note shows early, but is overpowered by the ripeness of the California grapes. On the palate, there's no grassiness, but there is a slightly tart herbal aspect that shows up most notably on the finish. Acidity is bright and fresh, perfect for seafood and salads. It's boozy - 15.3% - but it doesn't come off that way. It's made by Stonum Vineyards, by the way. — 6 years ago

Exotic and extracted. Unmistakable tumric, which threw me off, but was attractive. Dense and dark. Motor oil. — 5 years ago
