Santo Stefano di Perno Barolo Nebbiolo 2013

We went after finding a few bottles after we tasted the 2014. Nose of crushed flowers, tobacco, tar, and a dollop of asian spices. Oh soo good in the mouth, relatively accessible but prominent tannins and will do much better in 5 to 7 years. Our kind of Barolo, phenomenal with food. Top stuff. — a month ago

Santo Stefano di Neive Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1988

Tasted blind. Light amber with a reddish hint. Italian nose. Notes of tea, roses, some anise. Nice earthy mouth feel. Feminine and delicate, yet it's all there with structure and impact. I'm in Giacosa Barbaresco camp with my guesses, debating if this is as old as something from the 60s or maybe it's the 82. One of my favorite wines of the evening. — a month ago

Bruno Giacosa

Santo Stefano Di Neive Riserva Speciale Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1978

Gorgeous deep pure fruit with a fresh core and complex gentle signs of age at the edges. Softened, intense and totally balanced. A whiff of sandalwood but pretty cherry and violets and plum. Excellent. — 2 months ago
