Dark red cherry upfront, lighter mid palet and spicy finish. Starting to lose body. — 7 years ago

Perfect everyday white. Aromatic, fruity florals with notes of lychee, white peach, and apple blossom with a Meyer lemon candy twist. — 7 years ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, deep Ruby red color with aromas of spice and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and currants with dried herbs, cacao, pepper and spice with underlying gentle sweetness. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, toasty notes, and herb spice. Drink now! — a year ago
I’m not usually a fan of Sauvignon Blanc, but this was a bit more complex than most. Nice melon note, with a smooth mouthfeel. Definitely a good summer wine for its crispness. Not sweet, either, which I prefer. — 4 years ago
We are members at this winery... I know... Idaho is still figuring out how to do wine, but this wine is a bit-o-alright! Every other month we make the drive to the winery to pick up our allocation. While there is no restaurant at the winery, you are allowed to bring a picnic lunch. Sitting inside or outside with a picnic lunch and w a tasting that comes free w membership is delightful! Staff is so pleasant, and the winery has remained open (with restrictions) during this time of Covid . We like the experience, and THAT’s why we are members. We were willing to put up w mediocre wine for the EXPERIENCE. But, hey, this wine definitely surpasses mediocre! — 6 years ago
Well. This wine must be getting over its peak. Somewhat flat, had lost its spiciness. Flavors of dark plum, dry fog and tobacco. — 7 years ago

In Idaho for a wedding and needed to try some local wines. After a 12 hr travel day from south jersey to Ketchum....this paired with a local grass feed brie & fig topped burger is much needed. BlackBerry, plum, bacon fat, olive tapenade, and smoked meats. This could go against any old world syrah. Highly enjoyable. — 7 years ago

Great everyday drinker! A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Merlot. Aromas of Cranberry, Cherry, and Plum. On the bud, leather, cedar, and stewed fruit. It has a nice finish. If you’re in the Boise area, be sure to visit the friendly team at Hat Ranch. — 3 years ago
Rebuy - This is sweet but has an earthy fruity flavor that we loved. — 6 years ago
Steak night on vacation in the outer banks.
Having an Idaho vs Napa cab comparison. We went to Idaho for a wedding in June and purchased some local wines.
2014 Split Rail Winery vs 2013 Chappellet Napa Valley cab.
This is massive at 15.6% abv with equally big blueberry, cassis, smoke, and touches of lavender. Very surprised by how well this wine was! This was $33 vs the $65 Chappellet price point. — 7 years ago
Very good merlot. Easily could be Napa or Sonoma. — 8 years ago

Still big, lush and fruit forward. Syrupy texture, loaded with blackberry, violet, cherry herring. Smooth and deep if not powerful. Opened to more red fruit, touch of vanilla and cinnamon on the finish. Lots of life left even after 15 years. — 9 months ago
