Okanagan Valley Pinot Gris 2021

2021 vintage.
94 % Pinot Gris, 4 % Chardonnay and 2 % Muscat.
This was the year of the heat dome in British Columbia. Plus 40 degrees Centigrade in the Okanagan Valley for a week. Not fun.
This wine is pale straw yellow in colour with lovely flavours of white peach, melon and citrus rind.
Light bodied with medium acidity.
We had Albacore Tuna Sashimi, grilled Ling Cod and BBQ Sockeye Salmon bellies (all local and freshly caught) with this wine.

Tyler Harlton Wines

Okanagan Valley Pinot Noir 2017

A complete tapestry on the palate. A perfectly woven balance of the right fruit, the right heat, the weight. Cocoa, tobacco, stewed plum, rich winter spice and a very subtle hint of rhubarb. Spectacular. A true shame Tyler stopped producing. — 7 days ago

50th Parallel Estate

Okanagan Valley Pinot Noir 2016

A very herbaceous nose with savoury aromas of dried sage and rosemary. Flavours of blueberry, cherry, vanilla, cacao and truffle. The tannic structure gives the wine traction but it is not overbearing and presents a silky finish. I’d consider this a real winner. $65/bottle — a month ago

Reserve Okanagan Valley Merlot 2020

When in the Great White North, one eats poutine and Alberta beef and drinks bold reds from the Okanagan Valley recommended by the friendly cashier. Brings to mind Columbia Valley Merlot, but on steroids in terms of the concentration of the color and intensity of the tannins (rustic, dusty), flavors and aromas reflecting the high, dry dessert UV intensity and long growing season sunlight hours (still light here in Canmore after 10pm). More dark fruit (blackberry, black currant, black plum—some raisened/craisen notes, but mostly ripe and fresh) and herbal character (menthol, thyme, resin) than I normally find in Merlot that makes this wine really intriguing and distinctive. I think I’ll have a second glass… — 3 months ago

Tantalus Pinot Noir 2019: Medium-bodied. Medium-high acidity. Nice noticeable tannins. Cranberry. Cherry. Spice. Oak. Earth. Dry medium finish. Overall, a beautifully balanced, more complex than I expected, Okanagan Valley wine. Looking forward to exploring more BC Pinots! Cheers🍷 — 19 days ago

Le Grand Vin Okanagan Valley Merlot Blend 2017

Just a sumptuous new world Cab-Sav blend which benefitted nicely from an hour or 2 of decanting. Could age more but gorgeous now. — 3 months ago
