Mycket mild honung, superlätt utan att vara vattnig, blommig. (Uisge 19) — 14 days ago
Nose is camp fire, pepper, sea breeze, and some faint lemon peel.
Pretty dry up front with big spice/pepper notes. Smoke builds on palate and crescendos in a salty smoked bacon note with some lemon pith. Long, savory finish.
An Islay beauty. Not as much malt or wood sweetness as others, but really nice brine notes and plastic phenolic notes are subdued. Yum. — 5 days ago
Rich, warming and sweet. Caramel, Spice with a light raisin edge...probs from the sherry barrels. — 7 days ago
Väldigt fyllig, torr, stark men avmätt rökighet — 13 days ago
I found my peaty bottle that is not just peat :) balanced! — 20 days ago
Peated with some hint of iodine. Dry and not really invasive with the smoky flavour. — 5 days ago
Some of our dear friends muled this bottle from their recent trip to Scotland. Craigellachie is not very well known outside of Scotland as little of it gets bottled under its own label. Instead, the majority goes into blends for Dewars. Bottled at cask-strength, my notes are after four drops of water. This is an explosion of honey, lanolin, Frosted Flakes, pine forest, and bandaid. This is an oily whisky with substantial body. The finish is looooooong...lasting for minutes. Super delicious! — 12 days ago
