A little spicey, not as smooth because of the cognac barrels. Slight fruit, a little bitter on aftertaste. No peat. $85 at target (a bit pricey) might get it if it were in the $50s. — 4 years ago
Great blended malt scotch. Slightly sweet. — 6 years ago
This scotch opens up with sweet dried fruit aromas. Really smooth and coats the whole mouth as is being drunk. Deep vanilla notes, the wood is much more subtle in this expression of balviene. Thoroughly enjoyable — 7 years ago
Said to be an element of oldest and rarest stock (35 to 40 yrs) stock of the distillery - chocolate raisins orange nose, butter pudding Carmel, lime, cashew, spice favor with dried floral finished. So rich like having a toffee, so delicious! — 7 years ago

很早就买的酒了一直没评价,在这个价位可以说是能把苏格兰威士忌的味道整得比较明白了,有烟熏还有些甜感,千万别被呛着就好,可惜闻起来感觉酒精还是有小小得重 — 2 years ago
Golden amber color. Briny, diluted iodine, smoky, red fruit, floral and herbal notes on the nose. Warm mouthfeel. Hints of sherry and stewed fruits on the palate. — 6 years ago
Nicely rounded with smaller cask. Maybe sherry or orloroso. Big peat per usual. — 6 years ago
Lightly floral, slightly sweet and a touch of smoke (unpeated)... oily mouthfeel. Good dram. — 7 years ago

Apparently one of the oldest Distillery sites in Scotland. Located by the sea on the Isle of Islay this receives the slowest distillation of any Islay malt, then spends 16 years in old oak casks before being bottled. This is very pungent, peaty and smoky. One of my favourite single malts. — 4 months ago
