Savage Grace

Red Willow Vineyard Blanc Franc 2022

First pouring of vintage. Label promises flavors of preserved lemon, key lime and thyme. Processing included brief skin contact, then whole cluster pressing and native yeast fermentation. Some skin tannin astringency on finish. Aromas and flavors are accurate. Good acidity but skin tannins do shape the wine - not quite an orange wine, not quite a white. A stylish Blanc de noir, then. After two hours, the skin tannins soften and the wine drinks really well, with a harmonious blend of softness and fruit. Decant accordingly with a touch of chill to the wine — 24 days ago

Crognolo Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2019

In the heart of the Chianti lies Estate of Sette Ponti, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past village of San Giustino Valdarno. Has 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques, deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate blackberry, plum and cherry flavors with blossom notes, spice and fine integrated tannins. Good balance, long finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Nice! Will age a bit! Tasting well now! — a month ago

Heart & Hands Wine Company

Dry Finger Lakes Riesling 2022

Pale. Lychee and petrol nose. Lots of apricot on the palate. High-minus acidity. Love it. Best when freshly open and chilled. Neither air nor warming to room temp does it favors. — 3 months ago

Savage Grace

Dineen Vineyard Côt 2020

New vintage, yummy blackberries and, er, tobacco. Becoming a favorite. After 30 minutes, a healthy dose of fine-grained skin astringency emerges. Tangy or slightly tart on finish, with plenty of mouth-coating skin tannins. Worth decanting a couple of hours — 2 months ago
