La Caña

Rías Baixas Albariño 2024

A wine from Jorge Ordóñez and his winemaking team. Pale lemon color with crisp stone fruit and citrus aromas. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and melon with lemon citrus, consistent offering from La Cana. Medium finish ending with fruit, spice and mineral tang. Nice value. — 9 months ago

Botani Sierras de Malaga Old Vines Moscatel 2015

1) Can’t believe I have not reviewed this wine yet. 2) Appears to have gone through a label change, from the leaf one I know and look for.

Dry Moscatel from Andalucia - Sierra de Malaga.

Clear pale lemon.

Graham cracker (old vine) on the nose, orange flower, honey. Very pretty.

Dry, Crisp clean and lemony, with same graham cracker, orange flower, and honey, with lime in the finish. Med+ body, Med finish.. 14% ABV

Very good, drink now.
I don’t drink a lot of muscat wines, but this is one I keep an eye out for.

Bodegas Alto Moncayo

Veraton Garnacha 2015

A joint venture of Jorge Ordonez, Bodegas Borsao and Chris Ringland, located in the town of Bulbuente (Zaragoza) Spain. Alto Moncayo is the flagship of the winery. A single-grape variety of Garnacha, from vines between 40 and 70 years old, aged in new barrels for 20 months. Bold aromas of fruit and spice. On the palate black fruit flavors, rich and full-bodied, with complex spice. Fine tannins, savory, good structure ending with a smoky character. Very nice! — 6 years ago

Bons Ventos Vinho Regional Lisboa Red Blend 2014

Absolutely incredible value for money. VERY fruit forward, with “Touriga Nacional” in the front of the queue, if you don’t like port or fruity wines, stay away from this one, but for an amazingly drinkable daily “Table Wine” at around AU$ 10.00 a bottle? This is a winner on every level.
