Bodegas Alto Moncayo
Veraton Garnacha
A joint venture of Jorge Ordonez, Bodegas Borsao and Chris Ringland, located in the town of Bulbuente (Zaragoza) Spain. Alto Moncayo is the flagship of the winery. A single-grape variety of Garnacha, from vines between 40 and 70 years old, aged in new barrels for 20 months. Bold aromas of fruit and spice. On the palate black fruit flavors, rich and full-bodied, with complex spice. Fine tannins, savory, good structure ending with a smoky character. Very nice!

Smooth, yet mouth-filling big bodied graciousness. Lush amounts of alpine fruit, dried herbs, smoke, and salinity.
A great homecoming wine.
Never disappoints.

Needs a good amount of time to open up but then this Grenache shines. Well integrated, but still firm structure.

Dark Ruby with dark berry fruit aromas, from 40+ year old vines and aged for 16 months in oak. On the palate flavors of ripe plum and black fruits with cacao, spice and mineral notes. Soft tannins, vivid acidity ending with gentle oak spice on the finish. Wines from Spain are superb and at great values, especially Bodegas Alto Moncayo wines.

Jun 17th, 2021Nose of black fruit, smokey sweet spices and vanilla. Full bodied palette, nice pure fruit and integrated oak, soft grained tannins. Nice lengthy aftertaste with acidic uplift. Drinking very well now. Veraton is one of those bottles that consistently perform as a crowd pleaser and this vintage is no exception.

May 7th, 2020A nose of fruit, vanilla, oak, sweet spices and smoke. Still quite tannic on the palette with ok balance. Full bodied, heavy and concentrated black fruits with plenty of oak. Crowd pleaser.
