Vintage 2017 | I am fond of frivolous young Rioja, but seldom recognize them blind. To be honest, that frivolity and some raspberry in smell made me think: a Cru de Beaujolais. But this Rioja has its own qualities. Some cacao in taste, tannins still, good balance. Have to drink more of it to recognize. — 5 days ago
A young, fresh and dynamic cherry-punchy Mentrida which might remind some of gentler, easy-to-drink Gamays. — 5 days ago
Dang! Very good for a cheap trader joe's wine. Wish I'd have picked up a few more.
Dark funk on the nose, Dry and full bodied. Vanilla and caramel.
Drank while in quarantine, playing animal crossing and listening to soothing music. — a day ago
Cherry cola meets dusty tea nose. Like the new cherry cola tea Icee flavor you would have as a kid on a weekend shopping spree. Smooth and subdued, a refined yet fun and sexy fruit-forward leathered cola romp on a saddle. The upper echelon of the region. Giddy-up! Enjoyed with white saucy scallops and mushrooms over par-cooked onions and penne. — 24 days ago
Full, tannins, good finish. Paired perfect with a grilled filet. — 6 days ago
Another world famous Wine Nerd Herd Virtual Tasting this time on the docket was Spanish wines. This 100% Grarnacha showed in full force...caramel and violets on the nose-delicate in so many ways, not overly oaked, such fine balance and precision that speaks of a hybrid of old and new world. Drinks well now, yet has many many years ahead of it. @thewinenerdherd — 17 days ago
This is great. Fresh berries, a hint of smoke and spice, kind of a tart finish. Medium light body. Really great wine overall. — 3 days ago
