Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard

Roar

Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

What an excellent wine and for me a bit different in that the taste outdid the nose as the nose is the big tell for me. Anyway, the nose had some deep red friuits and a bit of cola. The taste was fruity sweet, in a great way, with deep dark fruits and just so enjoyable drinking it. The finish was long and very satisfying. It's the last bottle of Rosella's in my cellar. — 5 days ago

Boen Wines

'Tri Appellation' Santa Barbara, Monterey, Sonoma County Pinot Noir 2022

CSB
9.0

Dark ruby color
Initial smell (even after letting it open up): alcohol, followed by rich, dark plum and dark red cherries and peppery spices
Body: medium body with viscous legs, but denser or perhaps more substantial than the typical Pinot noir. Feels more warm weather climate than cool, much more open and ripe grapes.
Texture: moderate but smooth tannins with an overall lovely finish
Taste notes: dark berries/dark cherry and fresh white pepper with a refreshing lingering tartness

Margerum

M5 Santa Barbara County Red Rhone Blend 2021

Owner Doug Margerum and winemaker Doug "Scotty" Scott, craft world-class wine working with the top vineyards in Santa Barbara County. Blend of 49% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Counoise, 5% Cinsault. Deep Ruby with dark fruit and floral aromas with complex spice. On the palate flavors of plum, cherry and raspberry with lively acidity. The finish brings notes of cacao, licorice, espresso and earthy minerality on a long ending. Nice value. — a month ago
