Solid label, solid wine. Golden fruits, subtly bitter acidity coated in dry unsweetened honey. — 13 days ago

Velluto Rosso Beneventano Aglianico 2019

The velvet label could be brushed off as gimmicky, but once you taste this wine you’ll see exactly what the producer intended - luscious, silky smooth #aglianico , coffee, chocolate, subtle smoky notes. — 2 months ago

Fontanavecchia

Taburno Aglianico 2011

Very rich and deep. Really singing now. Raging Aglianico tannins have been mellowed by 12 years in bottle but are still prominent with a bit of grip. Dark black fruit but tart, loads of acidity. Well balanced. Would have liked a bit more nose. — 15 days ago

Nose is plum.

Palate is young / tannic. Has hints of elegant fruit. Could be good. Very good acidity.

Needs 2-3 years.

Flora Beneventano Falanghina 2019

R Bl
9.2

Beautiful amber color; complex fruity nose with light herbs; full mouth feel balances high alcohol with great acid and big flavor and somewhat creamy feel. Ripe apricot with other stone fruit peeking thru (peach, maybe yellow plum); outstanding saline minerals, complex herbal (marjoram-like) and floral interplay all combine for a wall-of-sound effect. One of my favorite white wines ever, good by itself and great with a wide variety of food. — a month ago

Mastroberardino

Falanghina Del Sannio 2020

Pale lemon-green color with aromas of tropical and citrus fruits with floral notes. On the palate flavors of pineapple, citrus and honeysuckle with floral and nutty notes. Medium finish, lively acidity ending with a mineral tang. Nice value!! — 5 months ago
