Feudi di San Gregorio

Sannio Falanghina 2021

Falanghina is fun to share with wine novices and experts alike as they are slightly off the beaten track and utterly delicious. Golden yellow with a zesty, bitter salted almond note on the palate, they are voluptuous, not losing track of that sharp salinity, though. Very alive, bringing in under rich white peach and herbal notes to the mix, finishing floral with that almond note recurring. — a month ago

Flora Beneventano Falanghina 2021

Was pretty skeptical when I saw this was 14.5% - but really quite good. Lots of white fruit / sweet nuts / white grapefruit. Pretty savory and great acid on the finish. Full bodied. Nice value. Still would prefer it to be 12.5% but can’t argue overall. — 22 days ago

Nativ velluto rosso red velvet. Deep ruby coloration. No translucency. On the nose,
Cherry, smoke, earth, clay and minerals. On the palate, cherry, smoke, earth, minerals and a long finish of blueberry and vanilla. Full bodied, extremely smooth and velvety. Tannins are present but not overpowering. 2019. Outstanding value.

Preta Falanghina 2021

Delectable Wine
8.9

The 2021 Falanghina del Sannio Preta is pretty and delicate in the glass. It wafts up with peach and dusty yellow floral aromas. This is pure and energetic, with bright acidity elevating crisp orchard fruits. Its minerality blends with a salty mineral flourish that comes through on the finish. $22.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, August 2023) — 7 months ago

Aglianico del Taburno 2017

9.0

A gift from the Italian Chamber of Commerce event, this is much better than expected.
A civilized Aglianico yet retains its rustic charm. Supple and easy drinking. Tannins are quite refined for a Aglianico at this age.
Taburno is one of the 3 Aglianico DOCG’s, Taurasi being the most famous one.

Janare Falanghina del Sannio

No formal notes - from half bottle. I have always loved the rich flavoursome notes of Falanghina from the Campania region of Italy with notes of honeysuckle and pear. Impossible not to like. — 6 months ago
