Popped and poured and enjoyed over lunch so no formal notes. I thought this was a wonderfully delicious Friulano with lovely floral notes and orange candies. Acid was great and it worked so well with marinated octopus salad with anchovies. — 3 months ago

Some of us, being Nebbiolo supplicants, love Ghemme for its paradoxical meaty, bloody, yet light qualities. This has it in spades, on the edge of cherry cough syrup but never quite there. The woods, especially on the nose. This wine would benefit from a large glass.
It’s a bit of a sneaky, under the radar winery, hopefully for a bit still.
Lots of cherries, loam, dirt, blood, stoniness. Delicious. A ‘17 feels just about right. — 7 months ago

Popped and poured. The 2020 Chardonnay “Ronco Basso” is quite compelling. I found that the fruit presented more round on the nose than it is on the palate, which showed a bright mix of tropical and citrus fruits with really lovely acid and fantastic minerality. The finish was long and full of energy. One of the more exciting Chardonnays I’ve had in a while. Drink now but will drink well for at least 10 years. — a year ago

Much more mineral driven than your typical sauv blanc, very easy to drink though, with a more golden color, with hints of green to the edges. Medium bodied, bigger than your typical, dry, with prominent cantaloupe and honeydew melon flavors, maybe even a little underripe peach, with a long mineral driven finish with hints of grassy hay and even some ripe lime. Kept it open for a week and it didn’t lose any flavor. — 8 months ago
