375ml. Very impressed. Dark red color. Mixture of Napa and Bordeaux on the nose. Insane balance of sweetness and tannic structure. Velvet on the palate. Could drink this all day long. Tried to buy more but appears they stopped making it in 2015. Such a shame as it rocks!! — 8 months ago

Nose has beautiful saline mousse of lemon curd, slightly oxidized tart green apple peel, freshly baked sourdough bread and cold limestone slab.

Palate has day old bread, dried-shaved ginger, dried lemon pith, squeeze of lemon juice, touch of sweet caramel notes with great acidity, and forever finish. Opulent!

Wow, just wow, enthralled by the aromas coming out of the Gabriel Glas! The palate is just dancing like a Ginger Rogers, matching Fred Astaire doing everything ‘backwards and in high heels’. Hands down the finest version of this California sparkling wine ever passing my lips.

As this warms in the glass it's just even more amazing, moving from 9.4 to 9.5! — 4 years ago

Pol Rogers prestige cuvée in hommage to Sir Winston Churchill who was ‘simply satisfied with the best’. Composed of grapes sourced from Grand Crus pinot noir and chardonnay vineyards. Never tried this, and wifey recoiled after her first sip, as did I. Nose displays beeswax and spring notes. Palate is oily and viscous, with minimal acidity. Huge dollop of oak complement big layers and complexity. Overtones of maple syrup combine with a quite pronounced oak treatment. I consider this quite unusual and quirky, in a very good way. Nose has lightly toasted brioche, recently washed lemon, lemon pith, dry limestone, pineapple core and yellow apple peel.

Palate has lime pith, squeeze of lemon juice, slight waxy notes, pulverized limestone and lingering ripe tropical fruits.

Medium finish, feeling like the concentration is coming up short, still enjoyable. 90m decant, we'll see how it evolves over the evening.
