Merry Christmas to us! Delicious. — a month ago
2020/12/20-21 with roasted quail over polenta, etc. A bit more shy and gentle than previously, but still a lovely old-school wine, red fruit and dried flowers - for me, perfectly enjoyable now — a month ago
Happy Holidays!! Nice Pinot for the price. — 2 months ago
Classic Napa cab, once it opened up. Notes of berries, plum and oak. — a month ago
May 2016 lot, degorged August 2019. 2020/12/20-21 before roasted quail and oyster nabe. Wonderful, multidimensional blanc de blancs - sometimes subtle, like cold flowing water, other times flashing smoke, stone, pastry, lemon and apple. — a month ago
Not as grapey as Port but shares many of its characteristics—rich, perfumed, fruity, nutty, toasty and sweet (but not crossing the line into unctuous, I’m pleased to report). I’ve had this bottle opened for over a year and it’s indestructible. Enjoyed with a cheese plate featuring Stilton, Gruyere, figs, dates and dried cranberries. I feel like I’m in a Dickens tale. “God bless us, every one!” — a month ago
Light, smooth, tangy in the cheeks! — a month ago
1/2021. Nice full bodied Rhône wine. Dark purple and feels good on the palate. Paired well with the stuffed quail at Gervais and Vine. — 14 days ago
2020/12/19 with lardo-roasted quail, polenta, squash with rosemary and garlic and carrot green salad with walnuts. Pale and savory, with lip-smacking acidity, minerals and dried flowers. With time, bright but deep berry fruit and brown and green spices emerge. Lovely northern Nebbiolo. — a month ago
