I think that wine is categorized wrong. This rose is a blend of Alvarinho and Sousao so I’m not understanding the vinho verde reference. Maybe the location..? Anyway, this wine was a surprise and amazing. Beautiful dusty rose color. Lots of flavor- grilled watermelon, pepper, savory herbs, underripe strawberries, beeswax and it goes on and on... glycerin-y in the mouth and a longish finish. — 6 years ago

I was surprised to see the ratings so low from others. This wine was gorgeous. Calling it a baby chateaunuf du pape would not do it justice. This can go toe to toe with the real thing. I bought this 10 years ago (thanks JR) and it got buried at the bottom of my cellar and I forgot about it. Glad I did! — 7 years ago

Not a port but a dry table wine. Quite deep garnet , medium thin garnet rim, slightly hazy appearance. Quite discreet at first , with some sweet plum , blackberry jam and spiced dark cherry notes., slightly herbal earthy touches , black tea after a while. On the palate this shows development with earthy dark cherry notes, blackberry notes , touch of liquorice and violets . Quite pinched , relatively high acidity and slightly gritty tannins , touch of alcohol noticable . Ok medium length with spiced dark cherry , cacau hints . This is at peak now , loosing a bit of freshness perhaps , though it will probably keep ok over the next few years I don’t see it improving . This is disappointing given the price . — a year ago
