Táganan Vinos Atlánticos White Blend 2019

A blend of Listán Blanco (Palomino) and several other native varieties - Malvasía, Forastera, Marmajuelo, Albillo Criollo, Vijariego Blanco and Gual – from various parcels in the village of Taganana in the north of Tenerife, each plot vinified separately. Fermented in concrete open vats (with short skin-macerations) and partially aged in steel (40%) and 228 and 600-liter oak barrels (60%) for about 8 months. Sea breeze, bitter orange and lightly oxidized notes on the nose. Complex, mineral, precise. Nice saltiness, long finish — 3 years ago

Canarias?! Who knew? This wine has peach, nectarine, ripe yellow apple and almond paste on the nose and yet crazy minerality on the palate. Love it. — 8 years ago

Fanti

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2011

More modern style. French oak and vanilla notes. Blackberry fruit. Still has Brunello notes, but not as rustic. Tannins are still pronounced. Paired well with criollo ribeye. Hold a few more years. Finish is impressive. — 7 years ago
