Peated nose (of course!), along with a hint of dates. Peat and heat at the start, with slight notes of sea greens. Finishes with brown sugar sweetness. — 4 years ago
Golden amber color. Briny, diluted iodine, smoky, red fruit, floral and herbal notes on the nose. Warm mouthfeel. Hints of sherry and stewed fruits on the palate. — 4 years ago
Color of tea. Nose of smoke, peat, sweet dates, spicy and strong alcohol, and more coal like peat. The nose is powerful. Taste is another hit of smoky peat. First sip is dry, however the sweetness surfaces later. Hidden note of marginal sweet apple. Aftertaste shows some baked apple and more smoky peat note. Clean, powerful, straightforward, and tasty. — 3 years ago
This might be my favorite Speyside. Very pleasant nose with complex, deep flavors. Well balanced and smooth. — 4 years ago
Shláinte! Purchased in 1990 at the distillery and opened this year. After 40 years (1980) enticing aromas of smoky peat perfume fill my nose. Upon my palette the silky smooth whiskey caresses my tongue. Amazing experience! — 5 years ago
With a dark golden/medium copper coloring, which is maintain in the glass and provokes a very inviting feeling, this whiskey produces legs that are readily apparent and mark the glass for a lengthy period.
The nose is lightly floral, with fruity notes and some sweet vanilla and oak, and with no noticeable alcohol burn. It’s a medium nose that is easily picked up.
The whisky produces a wonderful mouthfeel, one that lightly covers the entire mouth with a slight syrupy feel, and yet it’s not oily. The flavor profile is subtle to moderate, with most action in the back of the mouth. The whisky provides flavors of berries, oak, sherry and some sweet vanilla as well. The finish is medium, but turns on some spice and delights the taste buds with some interesting baking spices. — 3 years ago
New addition to the cabinet, first Dalmore. On the nose very bizarre, albeit tantalizing notes of clove, star anise, and candied orange peel. On the palate very smooth yet expressive notes of roasted coffee and espresso-dark chocolate nibs. Lovely scotch. — 4 years ago
Mild and delicate. Lemon and white chocolate on the nose as well as on the palette. Also on the palette, flavors of praline appear with mild peat and saline. The finish is Christmas spices with a hint of cigar box. — 5 years ago

Has a high fruit forward nose, apples, pears, kiwi. Faint, faint, vanilla and oak but still really fruit forward. — a month ago
