Thought I’d try their N/V after enjoying their 16 Grand Cru Special Cru so much. It’s nice but not the life changing 2016. 100% Chardonnay.
Seems like there is some wood in this or saw some air during fermentation. Apple, pear, touch of pineapple, nice mousse, white citrus blend, baguette crust, yeasty, bread dough, graham cracker, limestone marl, chalkiness that grips with a sharp press into the palate, white spice, sea fossils, light saline, white flowers, excellent crisp acidity and an excellently balanced, well structured & balanced finish that lasts a full minute. — 4 months ago

Popped and poured; no formal notes. While the Goutorbe was ready for the business, this 2016 from Gimonnet was more of a discussion about its potential. This Special Club bottling showcases Oger and naturally, is a 100% Chardonnay BdB. I like where it’s headed, it’s just so youthful and tightly coiled. Loads of minerals and acid. Needs time. Drink after 2026 and through 2046. — 3 months ago
Exquisite and delicious!!
Beautifully balanced between fresh, vibrant apple, lemon peel notes and brioche, biscuit, toasted almond, and pastry notes, with some delicate bruised pear characteristics revealing a bit of bottle age.
Mousse is fine-grained, persistent, and well-integrated. So good! — 5 months ago
Beautiful. Much softer and rounder than the 16 Oger Grand Cru Special Club.
The mousse is fantastic…smooth as silk…micro oxygenation.
Lightly, bruised, red & green apple, pear, tones of apple cider, citrus blend-lime led, pineapple juice, notes of ginger-ale, shades of hues of brown sugar, cream, some bread dough, baguette crust, light yeastiness, perfect chalkiness, alluvial limestone, saline, sea fossils, soft white pepper, yellow lilies, spring flowers, soft, lively, perfect acidity and a beautiful two-minutes finish that encompasses; incredible balance, tension, structure and master woven.
The “Chouilly Grand Cru” Millésimé is the only vintage that comes from several plots, but from a single place called “Montaigu”. Its style represents the archetype of fine, delicate and creamy “blanc de Blancs” Champagne. It is made from several plots..12 hectares. 60 months on lees. They are an original member of the Club Trésors de Champagne.

Have really come to enjoy this producer more & more.
This should be opened down-line in another 5-7. However, it is delicious tonight.
Beautiful mousse mouth entry. Both peaches, tangerine, lime-lemon citrus, tangerine, pineapple juice, tropical melons, silvered almonds, foamy cream, vanillin, butterscotch notes, some caramel, bread dough, baguette crust, light yeastiness, yellow flowers mixed in white spring flowers, light yet crispy acidity, extremely well, knitted, balanced with an elegant, smartly finish that lasts minute(s).
