This was a close out at the grocery store, and it was pretty good. I’d drink it again. — 4 years ago
Balanced. Cherry — 6 years ago
Toasty and alcohol dominant upfront, but a little decant or time in the glass and this peppery, oaky, berry petite Syrah is ended up nicely. Actually had enough glycerol flavor and structure to have some layering of flavors after 30 minutes, and would likely be even better in a couple more years. Dark fruit moves to the forefront with balanced spice and wood with some time. Not a huge wine, but really good value. — 8 years ago
Super subtle nose, give it a moment to open... Full bodied with blue and black berries and a hint of tobacco. Subtle yet rich and well balanced. Tasted against Oak Grove and Parducci Petite Syrahs and it took top honors. — 10 years ago

85 is a blend of Mendocino grapes - 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. It was aged in 30% medium toasty, new American oak and 70% seasoned oak barrels. Alcohol checks in at 14.5% abv and it sells for $45. They only made 240 cases.
The wine is medium dark and smells of plums and blackberries, with great notes of sage, vanilla and eucalyptus. That dark fruit hits big on the palate and carries along nice oak spice notes with it. Tannins are fairly aggressive, and the finish lingers awhile. — 9 years ago
