This was even better than the other bottle I had, which was just a bit too rancio on the finish for my tastes. All kinds of woody goodness — 5 years ago

Wellington 20 Years VOS Palo Cortado Sanlúcar de Barrameda Palomino Fino

Da bomb, for sherry lovers: Palo Cortado versión. A shape shifter on the palate & ringing on the higher registers, this Hidalgo checks all the boxes for me, which includes a lightness & freshness heaven made for most food. If I remember right the solera used has wine much older than 15 yrs. thinking back this has a saline knife in its taste that could either taste hot or like a fine whiskey depending on your palate. New label btw. — 5 years ago

You can taste the sea crashing against the shores of your palette with each sip. Remarkable geographical experience.

2020/4 as an aperitif with mussels, and with feijoada, Basque-style roast pork, etc.
This bottle was particularly woody and dry, but still with that caramel depth. A little rancid but not too much.
