Ripassa Superiore Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2019

After pressing dried grapes from making Amarone, Valpolicella wine is passed over the still warm skins of Amarone for 2nd alcoholic fermentation, increasing the alcoholic content, aromas and color. Blend of 85% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta. Deep Ruby with aromas of sweet dried berry fruits and pepper spice. On the palate ripe blackberry, currants and sweet cherry with complex spice. Well balanced with acidity and alcohol, full-body with soft tannins on long finish. Nice value. — 6 months ago

Monte Lodoletta Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2015

The best Amarone I have ever had! Blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. Dark ruby color with a hint of red around the rim. Lovely aromas of black fruit, violets, baking spices, and cocoa. Full pallet of dried fig, black plums, black tea, and herbs. Earth and mineral notes on the very long finish. Creamy texture. Tannins are a bit chewy but not over top. Everything about this wine is totally in harmony and no one flavor dominates. Unbelievable! Thank you for sharing this one Kasey and Petey! Sergio Zenato & wife Carla produced quality wines from indigenous varietal, Trebbiano di Lugana, and passed down through generations. Blend of 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta & Croatina. Medium Ruby color with aromas of dried berry fruits, sweet & smoky notes with pleasant herb spice. On the palate flavors of ripe currants and blackberries with cacao, spice, oak & nutty tones. Fine tannins, long finish ending slightly creamy with cedar notes. Drinking well now, enjoy over next 4-5 years. — 10 months ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2017

This wine was deeply hued, and concentrated, leaving staining on the glass.

On the nose it offered dried black cherry, blackberry preserves, creme de cassis, blackcurrant, plum, prune, fig notes next to black licorice, violet, cedar, vanilla, and leather notes.

It epitomized a full body style, with high alcohol (16.49), a fulsome mouthfeel, and robust intensity of aromas and flavors; tannins were fine-grained, ripe, silky and well-integrated. The finish was long.

60% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta, and 10% Croatina.

What an incredible Valpo! Corvina (70%), Rondinella (20%), Croatina (5%) and Oseleta (5%). Beautiful balance of fruit and organics. Black cherry, baking spices, Forrest Floor, cocoa and a touch of beef jerky waft out of the glass. Dark currants, minerals, and mocha flavors with just a touch of menthol on the finish.
