Medium rubi robe, nose of crushed flowers, top soil and spices. Very elegant and well done, accessible now if decanted, good wine for cellaring. Thats a classical Barolo with all it takes to please. — 5 months ago

Pian Cavallo Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2016

Absolutely Needs a 30 minute decant. Discombobulated on open. Do NOT drink on open.

Nose is medium cherry and cherry flower. As it opens nose is a basket of flowers. Violets. Lilacs. Lavender. Daaaaaamn negri. Really crazy assed addictive. Like a drug. An alternative reality that sucks you in.

Palate is silky cherries. Some spice. Grippy tanins that melt after 30. A hint of chocolate. A hint of cherry licorice. Juicy. Such sweet hedonistic fruit. Jamalamadingdong.

Nice juicy licorice finish.

Serradenari Barolo Nebbiolo 2018

Slow ox 3 hours, followed by 2 hour decant, and enjoyed with traditional spaghetti with pomodoro sauce, shaved Parmesan and rolled meatballs. Ruby, clear. Hint of tar, smoke, botanicals on nose, with red fruits coming to the fore with time in the glass. Medium bodied. Dried cherry on the palate. Medium plus acidity. Tannic bite on the finish, mellowed by prolonged air and food. Elegant. Give it plenty of air at this point to show its best. Will be better with a few years of age. — 5 months ago
