Marotti Campi

Superiore Orgiolo Lacrima di Morro d'Alba 2015

Great Thanksgiving wine! Dried cherries, rose petal, gum Arabic, cedar-Saigon cinnamon-oak, elderberry, currant, nutmeg, blueberries. Black pepper on entry softens to black and red cherry with lavender and violet. A touch of cherrywood a smaller touch of applewood, a minute touch of hickory and a nano shaving of mesquite. Laden with inlay. Sour blackberry finish speckled with lingonberries and myrrh.

Guardengo Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Lacrima 2017

Deep purple and an amazing floral nose. tv14%, higher in alcohol than I’ve seen with Lacrima, but u can’t taste it. This wine is so unusual- no other grape that I know of ( my brother will correct me?) has a nose and taste like this. Tannins are there but in check. Went great with pappadelle and pancetta/ tomato sauce. — 4 years ago

Napa Valley Grignolino 2015

A Napa oddity. Light red. Highish acid. Very perfumed. Like drinking sour cherry juice with lavender perfume. Charcuterie wine. Increasing complexity with air. Fun wine. Reminds me of Lacrima di Morro d'Alba from Marche. — 5 years ago
