Absolute bargain at £6 on offer from Morrisons range of lesser seen grape varieties. — 7 years ago
— 10 years ago
First impression following a very nice Chard at Morrisons, same company--dynamic dynamite, fruit in balance, Mary Beth prefers this to the Chardonnay, almost unheard of in my experience. — 11 years ago
My go to, easy drinking wine. Nice hint of pepper, dry finish and fantastic value. Regularly on offer in Sainsburys, Morrisons and the Co-op. — 11 years ago

A little mystery behind this twelve year-old English sparkling bottled by supermarket Morrisons, produced by ‘Rolling Green Hills Ltd’ who are believed to be Nyetimber. So, for £20, how does this wine made by the UK’s best stand up?
Pretty darn well.
The nose is a dead ringer for Champagne, not that that should be its goal, but I would definitely pin this as such rather than English had I tasted blind. Quite rounded on the nose, with plentiful aromas of toasted brioche, yellow apple, pear and burnt butter. The palate is open and generous, fat and buttery, and it glides through to a satisfying finish with great balance.
I have to say, this is incredibly impressive stuff given the context. Highly recommended!

For a Merlot it is lighter with hints of blackberry, raspberry & a decent finish. Cracking wine for £5 in morrisons! #tasty #greatvaluewine — 10 years ago

Perfect example of a Brunello Di Montalcino, served with Lamb in a red wine jus and you have a meal that really enhances the character of the wine. A deep ruby colour with an aged strawberry rim. Youthful, fruity aromas with a deep complex light and dark berry flavour. There is also a light smoked, cigar box finish and plenty of tannins for a long to medium finish. Buy in Morrisons for around £18 a bottle, bargain for an authentic taste of Italy! — 13 years ago
This is one of Morrisons The Best range an Alvarinho from Portugal and I'm really enjoying drinking this one alone. It's got a strong aftertaste, which is what I prefer to those light acidic wines, I would happily recommend others try it especially if you're on your own cos why not! Notwithstanding you'll get the whole bottle to yourself, another bonus. — 4 years ago
What a terrific white Rioja this is! Bottled by Morrisons and produced by Baron de Ley, though I strongly suspect this is the ‘Tres Viñas’ Reserva that they themselves bottle.
Aromas of nectarine, honey, caramel and vanilla. There is an element of petrichor / wet gravel on the palate that adds a refreshing quality. Medium acidity. Very full bodied, but not rich - has a strong minerality. Incredibly well balanced and long. — 6 years ago

43yrs Young! 1972 Baileys Bundarra Hermitage Looking Sharp! Fresh, Stunning Structure! Wicked Central Victoria Tannin & Acid! #FilthyOldVino — 11 years ago
Where to start... The usual berry aroma with a nice touch of vanilla, a very rich wine in taste and colour. A lovely warmth follows the first sip while my palate attempts to deal with the rush of berries and plum that come through. An oak finish ensures the taste buds keep on wanting with a long warm finish! At 14.5% it will be interesting to see where this goes but this is no gulping wine. The richness won't allow haste! Thoroughly enjoyable wine current sold in Morrisons for a reasonable £9.00. I will definitely look for it again. — 12 years ago

Opening one from my cellar. This has aged very well. Gentle on the tongue. Lands across the tongue with elegance. No harshness on the throat. Quaffable. — a year ago
